Nerrols Grange, surrounded by open space and the Somerset countryside, is located approximately 2 miles north of Taunton Town Centre. Northwalls Grange, a previous Barratt/DWH development, is located to the south of this site, and forms part of the original outline consent.

Nerrols Grange will provide 237 dwellings as a dual-branded site between Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes South West. Barratt will be providing 89 units, comprised of 2,3 and 4 bedroom homes. Click here to access our sales website and see what we currently have for sale.

About the Site

Outline planning approval for the wider site was granted in 2010. Phase 1 of the wider Nerrols Farm development, Northwalls Grange, had a Reserved Matters application approved in 2016 and has been constructed. Nerrols Grange, Phase 2 of the Nerrols Farm development, adjoins Phase 1 to the north, with a Reserved Matters application having gone in for 237 dwellings with associated works, in January 2019. Planning approval was received in November 2019.

The Barwick housetype shown in the photo opposite is currently serving as the show home for Nerrols Grange from the existing Northwalls Grange development. Viewings can be organised via appointment. The new show homes at Nerrols Grange are expected to open January 2021.

Our Plans

The planning layout was submitted as part of the planning application to Taunton Deane Council, now Taunton and West Somerset Council, in January 2019. The application was approved on the 1st November 2019. Check out the layout opposite.

News & Updates


Construction Update – April/May 2021

All road infrastructure has now been completed and site is well into construction.

New Year Update

The infrastructure to the new development is starting to take shape.  Work started pre-Covid and after it was reopened, the roads and mains to the north west were constructed in order for David Wilson Homes to access the development.

During August and September the roads to the south were constructed.  That left the centre spine road to be joined with mains laying, which has completed.

The services will be completed along the spine road, which would mean construction deliveries for the Barratt parcel would enter the development via the new junction onto Bossington Drive.

The attenuation area was constructed during the summer months that will take the storm discharge into the local water course.

The show homes are now open.


Sales Update

    • Our sales office will continue to offer an appointment-only service
    • Improvements to viewings – in addition to visiting personally, appointments can also be arranged by virtual video tours and photos
    • Normal hours are still offered for general telephone queries
    • To comply with Covid-19 regulations, there is a restrictive policy on viewing show homes which can be arranged through the Sales Office. Regulations are being strictly followed with monitored door access, protective screens and personal protective equipment


Customer Care Update

    • Work within customers’ homes can continue
    • Customer Care are currently accepting emails only as staff are working remotely and not in the office, with a service level response time of 5 days
    • Subject fields in the email describing the query as ‘Emergency’ shall be picked up sooner
    • The out of hours contact details are still current
