North Petherton

Land off Taunton Road, North Petherton, TA6 6NN


The site is a parcel of land off of the A38 to the south of North Petherton, with access coming directly off of Taunton Road. Located south of Bridgwater and a short drive away from Junction 24 of the M5, the site has excellent transport links. Prior to completion, the site had a Resolution to Grant for outline planning permission upon signing of the S106 agreement.

Barratt Bristol purchased the site in North Petherton in August 2020. Following signing of the S106 and outline planning approval, a Reserved Matters application was submitted in the same month for the erection of 130 houses, highway and drainage infrastructure, landscaping and parking provision, and the inclusion of 30% affordable housing.

Site Layout

Construction Update – May 2021

Groundworkers will be on site beginning of May 2021 to start infrastructure for roads and foundations. An ecologist has been in to check bird nesting and local ecology. The site is now fenced for security and health and safety. Construction on dwellings is expected to start in Summer 2021.

Planning Update

A Reserved Matters planning application was submitted on 20th August 2020 to the local authority, and was validated on 28th August. Reserved Matters approval is expected Spring 2021. Check out the submitted layout on the ‘Submitted Plans’ tab, which includes 30% affordable housing and a Local Area of Play to the south of the site.
